  • scale - 1/24
  • Manufacture - Airfix
  • Model - Sea Harrier FRS.1
  • Aftermarket - Heritage FA.2 conversion kit, Heritage undercarriage set, Heritage air brake bay, Heritage intakes set, Heritage cockpit set, Heritage wheel set & Flight path photo etch set

anyone familiar with this kit will know of the riveting issue (fist sized rivet holes) so it will be completely filled re- scribed and riveted.the etch alone weighs over 500g plus the fuselage will need to be cut in half and a resin extension added and the same with the nose, so plenty of work to keep me busy.

so i've made a bit of a start, 1st up was the initial filling and sanding, i made a mix of squadron green putty humbrol filler and self levelling thinners and basically painted it over all surface detail
20180101_164703.jpg
nice and green
then its just a case of wet and dry 300, 600 and then 1200 sandpaper.

still a rough job but this will be refined through out the build process as the air-frame will be cut into 3 sections the put back together so more filling and sanding. the 1st part to be removed is the cockpit area

here you can see the new and old,   whilst all that was going on i started with the cockpit, lots of etch and some scratch building too

should look the part once painted up.
any question please ask away
