What does amaze me though is the massive engines that you guys over the pond put into your vehicles. I'm aware that these days the sizes are coming down a little bit but over here in the 70s there wasn't exactly an abundance of cars driving around with V8s under the hood ( even before the oil crisis ) I guess even back then that petrol was a lot more expensive over here and that's the reason.
The Gremlin looks like quite a compact car and yet it was available with a 5 litre V8 and if I'm not mistaken that's what's going into your model Mike.
Biggest engine in a car I've owned was only 2.0 litre and the smallest was 900 cc ( and it wasn't a motorbike lol )

Yeah, we like our V8's over here lol. That same block was designed so it could be a 304ci, 360ci, or my favorite, the 401ci.
We're rebuilding a 258ci straight six for the Gremmy in the driveway. More torque!
The newer one we got last weekend has a 236 with a manual 3 speed. Its going to be a fun project with possible high performance upgrades and a mild cam lope.
I'll keep you guys updated. __________________
