So here we go then, my 2nd group build and 1st build in the new PeteCave.
I have decided in the end to go with this kit, no real rhyme or reason, other than I found a little bit of aftermarket in the box and thought that it might help cheer up the cockpit a bit. I don't as yet know where I am going to go with this one in regards to the display, I do have some ideas, but I'm not sure I want to go to the same level of insanity I did on the Phantom group build, so I'm not going to tie myself up worrying about it, i just want to have fun so I will just build this and see what happens along the way.

I'm going to go with the kit decals

Mustn't forget the clear parts, I'm keeping them bagged until I need them to prevent scratches

A bit of etch for the cockpit, seat belts and a real godsend is the masks (there is a lot of glass in this model

Aftermarket national insignia and swastikas
20150202_111625 by brundledonk , on Flickr
And finally, I may or may not use the pilots from my Stuka kit, I'll have to see if the can be made to fit

So that's that then, I hope to make a bit of a start today, but I'll wait and see, I need to sort out my spray booth before I can get anything airbrushed, I'm hoping for a break in the weather so i can sort the window out.
Good luck everyone, I'm really looking forward to building along with all of you

Nice one Pete! It does look pretty big against your floorboardy things. ... they'd make a nice runway mate.

I'll snap a pic or too when I get building to show the size a bit better, the wing span is the big bit, it's a lot wider than anything I have built before, Im hoping that the shelving i plan to build will be big enough to fit it on

Nice one Pete, glad to hear you're going to take it easy on this one.
I've held the box, but never got to see what was inside. It is some size alright. Nice additional after market purchases and I agree a mask set is a defo for this model.
I shall be keeping my mark 1 eye on this one.
Good luck my friend and have some fun.

Cheers Nigel,
This time Im not planning to set myself too much of a challenge on the display front, I'll just concentrate on the plane and see what happens when that's finished

It's a bit of a whopper lol ! I've started clipping bits off the sprue already and the cockpit looks like it's going to be a little gem, the amount of detail Revell give you in the box is pretty amazing

And those figures look like they won't need much to get some great results out of them. I'll be keeping my eye on all of it.
