things didn't start well today, what with the apparition appearing, but after I got to know him things didn't seem so bad. We found out that we have some common interests and are now getting on quite well

Turns out he's named Fluffy

I have made a bit of a start on the kit, and decided (well Fluffy told me to) start with the bombsight
This is it with the 2 halves glued together
20150203_144805 by brundledonk, on Flickr

There is a fair bit of etch to go on this part and some of it is coloured (that square bit in the middle of the fret, the problem with Eduards pre painted etch is that the colours never match the real ones, and this bit is no different

Fluffy reckoned that the way forward was to mix a colour to match the etch, and not wanting to upset a possibly Demonic entity I did as I was ruddy well told !

So under Fluffy's direction, I glued on all the etch, painted the details with various vallejo colours, gave it a light wash and added some chipping for a bit of wear

The colour is reasonably close to the etch, maybe just a tad darker

There is quite a lot of detail on what is a pretty tiny bit of plastic, I'm quite pleased with the result, it could be that this Fluffy Geezer knows his onions, of course my soul may be in danger of eternal hellfire and damnation for collaborating with a possible beast of the pit, but then again he might just be a friendly decapitated skull !

Looking good. Is this by chance fluffy's favorite song?

I really need to take a week off of youtube.

I'm really impressed with the level of detail in the cockpit in this kit, the sidewalls are really nice, this part has a ton of extra parts to go onto it and with the etch it should look pretty good

On the other side it's just as good, it even has a fabric "curtain" moulded in that I'm guessing would cover fuses and circuit breakers on the real plane

A pic of a fuselage half to show the size
20150203_162439 by brundledonk, on Flickr
It's the wings that are really huge, they will end up bigger than this as the wing tips are seperate parts that need to be added

I have also made a start on the detail parts that dress up the cockpit sidewalls, it's going to take a while as there is a load of parts to paint and add etch to
20150203_180439 by brundledonk, on Flickr
I did the same thing with matching the paint to the etch on this part, but I didn't mix anything, I found Gunze 305 Gunship Grey to be pretty close to the etch, it's not quite as dark as RLM 66 but allowing for scale I think it looks pretty good

Once I get my momentum going I can build pretty quickly, but i can see I have got a mountain to climb with the cockpit, there are literally hundreds of parts to go into it (not including the etch) it's one of the best cockpits I
Have ever seen in any plastic kit it doesn't look like Revell left out a single detail, I reckon it's a couple of weeks work on this alone
