This is my official entry in the "Anything Goes" GB.  A little modest in my opinion, I don't think.  Just hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew.

[i-3tffD8f-XL]  [i-JCcg4gB-XL] Yes, I've thrown in some photo etch just because I didn't think the build as going to be hard enough.

[i-5FgxMjN-XL]  [i-tV3Z69q-XL]  [i-mG7GccH-XL]  [i-PdmjcLh-XL]  [i-KdwZpZ4-XL]  [i-RmBkL7L-XL]  [i-8VFsfdC-XL]  [i-sP4Ct8m-XL]  [i-4Bhjd5q-XL]  Right, more later, if I can find the time.

Wow, looks like you've really set yourself a challenge with that one.  Good luck with building it.

Studying the instructions (dis,) I have come up with a plan of attack to hopefully speed up the build of just over 857 parts, that is not including the Eduard parts.  Build it in a lot of subassemblies that can be built when you are waiting for the glue to cure.  Some of the parts and I am not kidding, are no bigger than 0.5mm that's 20 thou!!! So any part that small cannot be finished unless it's well glued in place you are going to have a lot of time on your hands waiting.  So the two subassemblies I am working on are the engine, that from a rough part count is 100 parts, and the tracks, 36 links trank and each link is made up of four parts.

Now a few pictures of my slow progress and the build plans of the engine.

[i-fddHtCK-XL]
[i-xh8R8kK-XL]
[i-C84WdXW-XL]
[i-fFgrv3c-XL]
[i-PwVRD5S-XL]  [i-66NThWZ-XL]
Some of these parts are those massive 0.5mm parts!

And now for the very wonky tracks. Figuring out the best way of assembly.

[i-wKGNMcr-XL]
[i-n24bZjW-XL]
In my defence, one of the parts was misshapen.
[i-TQR3hz9-XL]
[i-75PFMKL-XL]
The part in the bottom left-hand corner is the starting or donkey engine.

Lots more later.

857 parts [eek]

Sub assemblies seems a very sensible way to go about it Colin.

Thought it was time I broke out the PE.  First time I've used it got loads I've bought and what have come in kits.  Due to my inexperience, I will not be using all of it.
[i-mZxN3B6-XL]      [i-GPhFVLN-XL]
removed original detail.
[i-Mv7xkp3-XL]
A near disaster, a bit snapped while bending it right over.[redface]   I'll notice it but I have my doubts that it will ever be seen.  Unperturbed by the slight misshape I'd ploughed on (Bulldozer joke [rolleyes]) to replace the grill in the radiator grill.

[i-Zbmz2xX-XL]
Before.
[i-dFdxzvG-XL]

After.
[i-ntwKR7s-XL]
A bit in between.[rolleyes]
And for those do not believe how small some of the bits are this!
[i-skGBKWq-XL]

Thinking about the painting, because some of the parts will need colour now. I won't be able to get to it later. How many of these tractors were repainted that naff US army green from the Catipiller yellow?  Any thoughts?

Must plough on,
a lot more later.

Nice work with the radiator grill, the photo-etch makes a real difference.

You will definitely be needing some magnification to handle those teeny parts [crazy]
