Hello,

This will be my second entry in this Group Build. Another WWII german tank... the mythic Tiger I.  My only concern is about applying the zimmerit coat. So I probably will opt for the F01 or F02 version.

Here are some pictures of the sprues and build options.

A great iconic subject! Have fun Alain.
You could go for aftermarket zimmerit decals... or just give putty a try 😉 Always fun to try new techniques.

Yes Remy... I would like to try the tamiya milliput. Have already the trumpeter zimmerit tool (toothed wheels).

A truly awesome and fearsome vehicle, and Rye Field have a good reputation.  Good luck, Alain, I expect you will enjoy this build.

Hello guys,

Started my build today. Could't wait to apply the Zimmerit on the turret.

The price of the tamiya milliput at my local hobby store was ridiculous expensive. So I tryied another epoxy putty sold by Canadian Tire (for automotive stuff and many other items). Here it is :

After applying a thin layer of the epoxy putty I used thes tools sold by Tumpeter.

And now the result :

This was my first attempt with this technique. And I must admit I'm quiete happy with the result. Will need to add some little finishing at some places but overall it look not too bad. More later.

That looks really good! Must give much more satisfaction creating zimmerit this way instead of decals 😉 Great job!

You can't go wrong with a Tiger 1.  Zimmeriting looks good, it's something I havent done yet.

Hello everyone,

Zimmerit FINISH !!! Little cleaning remains to do here and there but the messy part of the build is behind me. Here are the last pictures :

20191124_012928.jpg  20191124_011417.jpg  20191124_012957.jpg  20191124_013014.jpg  20191124_011702.jpg  20191124_013034.jpg
Also build one of the two workable tracks ... a long build but a great result (96 tracks + 192 track pins + 192 guide horns .... 480 pieces just for one side).

The 48 road wheels are almost assembled and cleaned.

More tomorrow.

Wish you a nice and pleasant Sunday.
