It'll be about another three or four weeks till I finish my current He-59 build, but once I have, this will be my entry into this group build.
It's a cracking kit, and I've read some very favourable reviews on it elsewhere, so I'm looking forward to this one.

All nicely packaged.

m_20190702_194723.jpg
The colour scheme.  I'll be doing the Malcolm hood variant.

m_20190702_194804.jpg
The runner shots.

m_20190702_194837.jpg
Detailing in the gear bays is exquisite.

Clear parts are good, but the Malcolm hood has some minor scratching on it, so I'll need to buff it out.

m_20190702_195017.jpg
Decals.  Needless to say I won't be using the invasion stripes decals, but will airbrush them on.

m_20190702_195117.jpg
Instructions are somewhat basic.  Not too many steps.

This backs up a thread I posted earlier in the year, about how when modelling a P-51, if it's on the ground the inner gear doors should be up.  Unless it's been on the ground for a while, then they can start to droop!

m_20190702_195217.jpg
Aftermarket goodies will be limited.  I have an Eduard cockpit detail set, but really I will only be using the instrument panel and the seat harnesses.  The kit's own cockpit is really nicely detailed already.

m_20190702_195319.jpg
And I really needn't have bothered with the resin exhaust, as it's no better than the kit one, so good is the original kit part.

Well, that's my entry.  Like I said, it'll be a few more weeks yet before I start it!

Actually, I've just scored something else, something a bit rare and interesting, and that I've been looking for for a while now.  Once it turns up I may do that one first, then come back to this one.  Don't worry, though, this will most definitely get built next!

I'll tell you soon as it arrives!  But it too has the D-Day invasion stripes.

A DC9 Dakota ... nice.  You're going to have to put it under a new build heading though.[biggrin][biggrin]

Nope, not a Dakota!  And I'll start a new thread, naturally.  Both these two are also going to be in the Flory models current group build, 'From the Beaches to the Bulge,' hense the D-Day stripes.  It's just when I scored this rather rare kit I knew I had to bump it above the Mustang, because I'm pretty sure no one else will be building it!
