Hi All....

Been wanting to try one of the new mold Airfix Spitfires. Have a couple in the stash.... So I decided on the MK.Vb. Also wanted to do a Yank marked acft and found a set of stickers for it from Lifelike.....

Also Using the Eduard Interior set.

Must confess, I started this on Saturday, So the start pics will be less sprue shots.... Also, my phone cam is getting retarded.... Sorry for the poor pics...

Completed Pit..... No Dramas to report... The pit really falls together well...

Paints used on the Pit

Thanks for looking!

Update Time!

Got the fuselage together which was no hassle. Great fit and I think almost no filler will be needed.

The problem so far is the Fwd Upper Fuselage insert and the wing fit.

1st the Fuselage insert

Actual Join lines were not bad but the Piece has a definite over contour all around. Shouldnt be too hard to sort but there will most likely be some of the cowling lock details will be lost.

Left side not as bad

Wing root gaps!!!! Doh!

And the rear portion not super, But I think won't be an issue

Want to try and use a sprue spreader, but need to hack away at the fwd bulkhead to allow a uniform spread. And also need to cut the fwd glue join. It will be covered by the lwr fwd cowl anyway....

Spreader inserted

And the result... I can so live with that!

OK That's it for now... Hopefully all sorts itself out!

Stay Tuned!

Thanks for looking

Dave
