Hi guys,
Here are my final pictures of for the Red Rugged Russian Revolutions GB 2016, the 1/48 Eduard MIG-21BIS. To start with, this kit is a joy to build. Very nice details, perfect fit, great decals and paint schemes, lot of weapons to choose from and a lot of nice PE en canopy masks additions by Eduard. If you want to build a MIG-21 that’s the kit to get!

Apart from that is also treated myself with some nice extras:
- resin cockpit by Eduard (very nice detailed!)
- resin wheels by Eduard
- fabric seatbelts by Eduard
- pitot tube by Master
- frame base by Ikea
- airbase tarmac sheet by Noy’s Miniatures
- ladder by plus model
- wheel chocks by HAD
- paints by Akan

The paintscheme was fun to do but the red and black “backbone” stripes where quite hard to get down (used the provided decals). Maybe painting them is the better way to go. I used akan paints and really like how the spray. Will use them for other builds to come with pleasure.

I enjoyed this GB a lot. It’s very nice to share the build with you guys and following your great work. Thanks again for your interest and comments and I hope you like the pictures :-). See you all in the next GB!

After seeing the nice reference prototype-23 showed me (thanks again) I added some chipping to the black tail section.

As I took some final pictures of the Flogger I took the opportunity to make some new pics of the 21. I hope you like them :-)

Stunning! I think my favourite part is the weathering of the wing roots!

Bravo that man!

Thanks buddy! The wingroots weathering is just some dark earth pigments, very easy to do ;-)
