Little update (hopefully with smaller images!)

Got the last of the main AC weathering done (aside from some scratches) using AK interior streaking, a nice deep dark brown.

Also the first of my goodies arrived in the form of some resin UZR-60 training missiles with transport box by plusmodel

Got a few other little bits painted up too, mainly detail on the landing gear and layer some flat aluminium down on the fuel tank with some chipping.

Some great work going on by everyone and it's giving me the inspiration to push the final stages!

Roll on Friday when I head into hannants to collect the last bits to finish the build inc..

HAD Models Airfield accessories set
PJ Productions resin ground crew set
Aerobonus resin soviet pilot
Aerobonus weapon loading cart
Also a couple of noy miniatures diorama bases (soviet hex, pag-14) just in case my sand paper attempt doesn't turn out!

Cheers guys

The size is fine now and the pictures are looking great. Very nice weathering and streaking effects. Are you going to apply a flat coat at the end?
Can't wait to see all the nice extras coming together :-)

Thank god for that lol

Yeah flat coat once most of the components are on (will have to remask the canopy though)

Got no pics but finished painting everything up tonight apart from the pylons an uzr-60s.

Really happy with how it's turning out, just shows what a difference patience can make.

Also got my draken today too and may have treated myself to a phantom too oops!

I have the Eduard/Hasagawa Draken too and looking very much forward getting to it :-). Recently I have build the Eduard "good morning da nang" kit and enjoined it a lot. Which one do you have?

Yeah the draken seems to be a pretty simple build which is nice.

I got the good evening da nang for a bargain. Looks to be a lovely kit

Got the main airframe done now (aside from pylons and weapons)

Just the diorama to go, picking all that up tomorrow.

Also got the ladder ready for a red coat and some chipping.

Soooo! Picked up all the extras today.

Pilot looks ace, think I will use the display base too.

So all good, maybe not. Some of the ground crew are poorly cast mainly missing fingers, very disappointing considering the price. In the fod kit the rear fod cover doesn't fit (easy fix though) and the weapons trolley looks like it's going to be a proper challenge.

After seeing the ground crew I'm a little down on the build, hoping I get inspired to get these last bits done.

On the up side whilst I was at the shop I managed to pick up a trumpeter mig-3 and a BF 109g-14 by hasegawa for the grand total of £14!

Little update...

All the little dio bits are testing my patience a lot! The tiny stabilisers on the UZR-60s are extremely testing, like give up and throw them away testing!!!

Just spent the last hour and a half swearing at this bloody trolley, it's looking ok but it's proper on the piss! Wish it were more level but it will have to do!

Think I need to start a new build to refresh my enthusiasm

Think I'm going to try and see if I have a plastic hand donor in the stash to fix the poor disabled Bugger
