Hello Folks

I decide to join to the Phantom GB. My entry for this will be the photo reconnaissance version RF-4B in the US Marines markings. Here it's the box art:

For this kit I will be using this collection of goodies:

And the obligatory sprue shots:

I hope I finished the build on time. I have 3 mounts so it should be enough time.
Stay tuned I hope to the end of the week I start the build and post the progress.
Cheers
wally

Wally,
Good to have you in the mix. I'm not too far along myself. looks like a nice kit [hobbyboss-yes] and aftermarket extras. Interesting nose configuration on the box art--avionics I presume?

Looks like a fun kit. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Ted it looks like that's actually where the camera is.

It's really interesting reading up on the different variants other than the one I'm building. Will definitely be worth keeping an "eye" on this one..... LOL. Couldn't resist that pun.

This looks like a nice variant. Hasegewa are reknown for producing almost all types of Phantom II. How have they dealt with the air intakes with this version, could not see anything on the sprues?

Enjoy the build Wally, and all the fun that comes with the forum.

Hello Folks

Finally during the weekend I have some time to start working on my Phantom. As usually I started form the cockpit. Paint entire cockpit using using XF-54 from Tamiya. The I glue all the PE parts using PVA glue. The foto bay was painted black and the cameras using XF-24. I think the PE part looks very nice and give more detail to the cockpit.
Here are some photos from this stage of the build:

Right now I'm working on gluing two fuselage halfs together. It a little bit tricky because I find out that the have some slight war-page or twist.
Cheers

Hi Wally, great start. The cockpit is very nice and neat, like it a lot! If you go on with this pace you wil have time over for a 2nd Phantom :-)
I'm building the Hasagawa kit to, but in 1:72. Wil follow your built to see the difference. Hoed luck and have fun!
