Hi guys,

I have just taken delivery of a 1/48 monogram Heinkel 111 from the US as this was the only place I could find this kit. On inspection of sprues etc I have found that one of the fuselage windows is missing.

How would you suggest I go about re creating one? Would it be case of using some Krystal Klear and fill the whole window in as I doubt there will be any replacement clear parts available for this kit from monogram.
Or are there other options that will make a nice neat job. I was thinking along the lines of using a small piece of clear film on the inside and applying a small amount of Krystal klear from the outside.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks guys
Richard

your plan sounds good. you would have the "thickness" and clarity needed IMHO

Hi Rich, sounds like a good plan.
However: ensure that the clear resin doesn't get too hot & melt your film.
If it's only a small part then you should be OK as heat only tends to build up the bigger the cast.
Another option could be to shape a piece of clear Styrene sheet, if the shape isn't too complex.
Styrene becomes flexible if heat is applied, and can even be vacuum formed.

Hope this helps Jas

Definately try the Kristal Klear, and as it is purely PVA you are not going to damage anything.
