And because I couldn't decide between this or the crusader I am going to try to get both done under the deadline. I will be doing this one completely oob. I will be using the VFA-146 decal set from the kit.

Nice to have you along Mike, and I really like the scheme you have for your Hornet mate

Thanks, I actually have an aftermarket set for the diamondbacks that I ordered when I bought this kit on ebay, I was having a hard time deciding. If I had know that this scheme was one of the ones included in the kit I would have saved myself some moolah. But that just gives me an excuse to buy another F-18 kit.

It looks pretty nice. I havent started yet obviously, so I cant tell if there are going to be any major fit issues. The detail I can see is quite nice. Has plenty of munitions to choose from and 4 really cool schemes to choose from decal wise. Of course the cockpit is about what you would expect oob, but its not the worst I have seen. Looks like it will build up pretty nice. I will let ya'll know if anything arises. I have been itching to start this kit, so I am glad I finally found a good excuse. It sucks having a lot of kits in your queue, and its a nice problem all at the same time [biggrin]

Yeah that was one of the 4 options that came in the kit. This kit actually came with 4 really good schemes to choose from.

G'day Mike,

Welcome to the Hornet's Nest! Can't wait to see how this builds compared to the Has kit. Oh! And to have weapons. You lucky bugger! Good luck and love the scheme you're going for.

Cheers!

Sean

Thanks, I am focusing on the f-8 at the moment, but I am planning on cracking into this one this week. I suspect that it is going to go together pretty well. I am still debating on the amount of weapons that will go on the kit and the amount that will go into the spares [tongue]
