After losing all mojo with the Mig-21 and it ending up in the bin, I decided to put a late entry into the GB with a kit that I started about a month or so back

To start things off, I primed the cockpit, pilot and jet exhausts

I then got to work on the cockpit and pilot

Then, I glued the cockpit in and closed up the fuselage halves

Next, the vertical stabilisers were glued together

I then put the whole thing together, filled the tiny amount of gaps and rescribed

I then primed the whole model, painted it in the lighter blue, masked up and painted the darker blue and faded the paint.

I then masked up the area for spraying the exhausts. It was masked up a little more than this!

A gloss coat was applied and I 'decaled' the model

I then applied a dark dirt wash. The model was then put onto its landing gears which took the weight

Finally, I did some work on the ordinance

This really is a great kit and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying it

You really bined the 21??? Wel, looks you found a very nice replacement. Gorgeous kit and beautiful work. All out of box? The pilot is looking great.

Yeh, just wasn't getting it the way I wanted it to be so I felt my time would be better put into something that I was enjoying. It's not all out of the box. I bought a resin pilot and ejector seat, resin landing gears and a brass pitot tube. Thanks for the kind comment

Looking great! I binned a model today after I salvaged parts for my spares box. Best wishes as you finish. That pilot/seat looks nice!

You state that you started this sometime ago, the competition rules clearly state you need to show all sprues before you commence this build from the begining.

It completely slipped my mind when I started it. If this puts me out of the competition, I don't mind. I've learnt my lesson. The kit only came out at the end of october so I couldn't have started before the GB started!

Didn't mean to be abrupt, just thought I would point it out to you. It's not really up to me to judge what's right or wrong, just a little concerned for you.
Nice build, btw. Just wish I could finish mine, but having great problems trying to get the paint. Too many suppliers are reluctant to send some products to Ireland...so I'm stumped. Customs & Excise and all that red tape.

Don't worry. I don't really mind about whether it will be allowed, I just built this kit for a bit of fun. Fortunately I don't really have a problem getting paint. Hope you can find a supplier that will do it. If you are desperate, ring or email them because they generally respond better to 'personal orders'

I have finally finished my Su-27! Here are a few photos from the final stages of my build.

So firstly, I finished spraying up my missiles

And then gave them a bit of a dark dirt wash

Next, I put them on the pylons and was effectively finished after putting a matt coat on

I'll put up some final reveal pictures up soon.
Thanks for looking
