Now that's a creative idea for a wall mount.

Finished the base. I'm not too excited about it as it turned out much more regular as I intended to do. Being random is so hard... but this is wat I did
Fixed the square brass tube on the base.

Then gave the polystyrene some texture mixed with a dark grey color.

and started spraying lighter shades of grey from the upper right corner.

Followed by some dry brushing in a lighter shade.

And trying snow... pretty subtle.

That's about it for this build. Time to get out the big camera for some final pictures :-)

Edit: waaaaay to close to the wall, lol

What a great concept. You might have been happier with smaller pattern but it is very nice and I will most likely "borrow" this idea as I have more wall space for models than shelf space for display!

Thanks Mike! I usually build my plane standing on the ground but they look so nice airborne.

Just cover the hole wall as a mountain so you stick your build randomly in there ;-). And yes, a smaller pattern would have looked better - next time :-)

Very cool idea. Maybe it's better to add some blur to the background via Photoshop.

streaky paint work might help give it that motion blur effect [smile]
or you could paint them like large mountains far below maybe ?

either way all very cool [smile]

Yeah, won't continue on this build though. But great tip for the next build ;-). Maybe a try the blur effect...
