I have been wanting to build this from my stash for a few years now, so good excuse to get moving on it!

I am planning to paint this one in Ukrainian markings since I love the digital camo scheme...there may be a little bit of political statement buried there too... [wink]

I ordered some aftermarket parts too. I think the Kopro kit is the same as this one. At least I hope so since I spent all the money on the accessories. I'll add some photos of those as well when they have all arrived.

Good luck everyone!

Yay, another Frogfoot. I actually decided to do the Ukranian digital camo as well. I have some reference photos in my thread.

Also, there is an AKAN set with all the right colours for this type of camo.

BTW, the images are indeed not showing ...

Have fun with the build.

Well, darn...I can see one of the photos when I bring up the thread, but it sounds like no one else can. I guess Google Drive doesn't work on this forum, I'll try to get a Photobucket account setup soon.

Photobucket is okay, just make sure you create an album for each build and upload them to that album. If you start moving them around Photobucket the image location detail changes and you would have to put them on the forum again.
It a free app, and it takes alot of photos to fill up the free account. Like most apps you could have problems, but they are pretty quick to repair the program...in my experience, can't comment for other users.

Good luck.

Sounds like google drive is a right pain ......

I up load all my pics to Scalemates which is cool as it is a site designed for modeling, great database etc.
free to join and just an all round great site plus you can upload pictures up to 1280 pixels across which is fine for viewing on the PC etc. [smile]

https://www.scalemates.com/

I suggest join up and start creating photo albums of each of your models, the "Copy Image Location" business works as well [smile]

And the work begins!

I got my photo etch sets and pitot probe in. Still awaiting some more detail bits, but have enough to get started with the cockpit.

[_MG_6591_zpschauv2ja]

I have found the plastic on this kit if very hard. Unfortunately the gates at each part tend to overlap the part, so they require a lot of touch up, made difficult by the hardness of the plastic.

[_MG_6593_zpsfhj1jva1]

Another down side to this kit is that there are no locating tabs and very few guide lines for locating your parts. For the cockpit, I started by gluing the forward bulkhead to the cockpit floor using a machinists square to ensure it was upright. I then temporarily located the parts in the left side with the nose gear bay using some sticky tack. This way I could check the fit of the aft bulkhead and the right side panels. The Eduard PE set suggests adding 0.5mm (~.020") plastic down to the side panel to orient it properly, and that seems about right. After fit checking, I glued the aft bulkhead to the cockpit floor in-situ to be sure I got the angle correct.

You may also notice I added a few strips of styrene to the right fuselage to help with alignment. I found the kit pins (only 2 provided) didn't align the panel lines very well and the halves kept slipping as I fit checked, so I snipped the pins off, sanded both halves smooth with a sanding block and added my own alignment tabs. I'll probably be making a few more of my own alignment tabs as I move forward to be sure I keep everything going back in the right place as I fit check.

According to some other  websites, it looks like it is a rebox. Of course I'm working the K variant which is the single seat version. The UB variants are two seaters.
