Think I might have found a contender for the decal set I might buy.

But if I buy the set I would have to choose between the 2 and that's going to be difficult.

Kenny

edit: also thinking about ordering some resin .50cal barrels to replace the plain ones on the kit. Think that might be $6 well spent for how much better they would look compared me trying to drill the holes in them.

From the picture of your sprues I would would agree. One thing I've never been able to do was scratch build a convincing .50 cal.  :/

If I had the choice I would go for Ruthie, the first one looks like you will need to do some awkward masking around the canopy/nose area.

I like the first one. Olive Drab over aluminum would be quite the attention grabber. You don't see a lot of B-25's in aluminum. Might give you an edge Kenny.

Yeah I was kinda thinking the same thing. Could really weather it too since these were low level bombers so they got really beat up. Having the aluminum show through the olive drab. Though ruthie does have a certain something
Such a hard decision.

Kenny

edit: first picture didn't work for some reason so take 2.

I take it that the set comes with white blanks or are you able to put the figure straight on?

It doesn't look like it comes with white blanks

But from the couple of models that I've seen from reviews and stuff for these decals they seem to turn out really nice. They also rave about how great they are to work with.

That sounds good to me, I know some are so thin that they show the colour through and darken the decal. Like the idea of the weathering showing the aluminium, you going to use hairspray or just straight chipping with paint.

It is a hard choice a Kenny, I have been staring closely at the decals thinking about how hard it was. Ruthie is definitely the way to go, those B-25 boys really liked a bit of "pin up" nose art didn't they lol.

OD over Natural grey is such an iconic combo on US WW2 aircraft, you can't go wrong with that choice mate

I've also started looking at this set. same place makes them, but the place that has the resin .50cal barrels has this sheet as well so I could save on shipping.

They also have this one as well.

Not fair that they have 1 and 3 but not 2 in the series. Makes it even harder because there was just something about ruthie that I couldn't take my eyes off of [wink]

Kenny, what a choice. I, too, still think Ruthie is for you. Don't forget you are the one that is going to look at it and dust it every day after the GB.

This is begining to sound like a dating agency. Personally I think you've already made up your mind [love]

Ruthie has been ordered. Not sure how long it will take for her to show up, but the decal stage of this is a ways off since I'm not even to that point on my f-22.

Kenny

After reading that again it sounds like I'm ordering a mail order bride. Lol.

Went looking at what paints I'll need, and it looks like I'm lacking a few (or I might have them just not enough left for something this size). So got those ordered and the .50cal barrels. If I don't stop myself from ordering more stuff soon I might bring myself to the point of having to go on a college student diet for the next few weeks. Nothing but ramen and koolaid.
