I hope you were actually trying to win her in the raffle, and not going for one of the other prizes [wink]

Ended up having to order them off ebay, but I found me some masks. Now I won't go insane trying to mask all the glass myself.

Ruthie showed up today without me realizing it. Was busy working on the raptor when she arrived, and didn't find her till I was putting the trash out this evening for tomorrow morning's pickup.
Was looking even at the stencils (though I would be lying if I said I didn't look at ruthie first) and everything looks great.

Then I noticed a little something in the top corner.

I'll take a set of cartograf decals over revell decals any day. Didn't even realize that these were cartograf decals when I ordered them. Happy accidents are happy [biggrin]. Paints and barrels were supposed to show up today as well, but no update on the tracking. Maybe they'll show up in the next day or 2.

Nice choice Kenny, seems Ruthie was leading you in the right direction. She's your good luck charm now mate.

Look forward to seeing her on your model. [wink]

You definitely made the right choice going for Ruthie ! Those decals look really nice too. A mask set will definitely help you keep your sanity, so many panels to mask on these WW2 bombers that doing them with tape would take for ever

Thanks guys. It's rather funny that a build that I wasn't planning on spending too much on has now doubled in price. Though since it was a revell kit that wasn't that high of a mark. Between the decals masks and the .50cal barrels I think I'm sitting at about $35 now including shipping. While I spent $25 on the kit. At least it's cheaper than the last 2 kits have run me. The phantom was just expensive to begin with, and the raptor keeps adding a little more over time (though I should be at the point where it shouldn't cost any more). I guess that p-47 hasn't been too bad so far. Only spent $15 on the eduard set, and I forget what I paid for the kit. Definitely not a cheap hobby, but it's still fun.

Finally got an update on the tracking for the paints and the barrels today. Got delayed on it's way to dallas which is where it's at right now. So since I paid for the slowest shipping on it I'll probably get it by friday. Masks just shipped from florida this afternoon, so it might be next week before I see them. If only my decals for the f-22 would get here as quick as everything is for this.

Well since my f-22 is on hold till the decals show up (would have thought 3 weeks would have been enough time but apparently it isnt), I'm starting on this finally.
The .50 cal barrels showed up the other day. Sorry about the glare, but I don't want to take them out of the package till I'm ready to use them.

Took me a few minutes to take in the first page of the instructions. They are pretty terrible, but they want me to build up the cockpit on the fuselage halves first. So I started on the rescribing on the fuselage halves. Figure it will be easier to do it now, than when the 2 halves are together. They won't try to roll around on me this way. So far there doesn't seem to be much in the way of rivet detail on the fuselage halves, so I think I'm going to look at some reference photos and put my own in.

Was asking myself "do I really want to rescribe this" all the way up to scribing the first line. Then I was committed. It's going to be pretty time consuming rescribing the whole thing, but it should turn out pretty good once I'm done. Especially since I have scribing templates and a riveting tool this time, unlike when I rescribed the a-10. Scribing is probably going to be done in many short sessions, because I don't think I can keep my concentration and patience where it needs to be for long scribing sessions.

Kenny

edit: pasted the barrel picture twice for some reason. lol.

One fuselage half is rescribed, and the other one just has the difficult curved parts left.

Burnt out on rescribing for tonight. Going to pick it up again tomorrow.
