1/48 Tamiya D-520 strip and re-paint.
Stripping medium: Neat IPA, Tamiya X20A.
Paints used; Vallejo surface primer, Tamiya acrylics.
Weathering, Flory wash and pigments, Abeltung 502 oils.
Not a build thread, since it was already built, but you know what I mean:
An interesting exercise this, stripping a kit back to bare plastic. Bit scary to begin with, and very messy, but the end results speak for themselves. I must again sing the praises of PT Decals, too. If they’re not as good as Cartograf then they’re pretty damn close. I’ll certainly use them again. p.s. It wasn't till I loaded the pics I noticed I'd bent the pitot probe on the wingtip. Needless to say I have now straightened it!
There, that's better, I'm more than happy to put her back in the display cabinet now!
