Hello Again

Next step of build. Yesterday I finished working on main body of the plane. I washed wheel bay and engine nacelle using Enamel Dark Wash from MIG. After it dries I wipe away the access. I also scratch build to tanks one is fuel and second for the oil using some spare parts from my stash. I have plan to add them into the wheel bay area as on a real aircraft. Then I glue wings into fuselage no problem at all, this kit goes together like a dream. I also found in my stash the resin engine for this kit so I decided to replace the kit one with the resin engine.

That's it for now today and tomorrow I will be working on the engine, painting, weathering and add some details to it.
Cheers

Hello again

Thanks Guys for such nice comments on my build.  I start working on my engine. First I spray AS-12 silver entire engine then using circle mask I spray gear box using Tamiya light sea grey color. The rear part of the engine with supercharges was painted using Gunze Metallic Dark Iron paint, when it dries I dry brushed it to get the more metallic look.

Next will be add oil wash, some push rods and ignition wires to further detailing this engine. Stay tuned [smile]
Cheers

Starting with a great Tamiya Kit and your paint work is a bulls-eye--very nice color selection and finish.

Hello Guys

Thanks for the video Jomone nice to see real aircraft in full HD. During the weekend I finished working on the engine. I add push rods made from copper wire 0.4 mm and painted black, after that I add some electrical wires using lead wire 0.2 mm. It s not exactly the same as on real engine but I think add another dimension of details. Hole engine was weathered using AK Interactive washes for engine (oil and fuel stains). After finishing the engine I could glue in place the engine nacelle. Now Wildcat is read for primer.

I waiting to new Badger Stynylrez Primer to arrive to check if it is really that good as they say. [smile]
Cheers

WOW Great looking motor Wally!

I think you will be quite happy with the Stynylrez..... It is the shiznet! But if ur using a airbrush smaller that .5mm, you may have to thin it just a touch. I tried with a 2mm and had to add 5-10% thinners and it worked great!
