Hello Folks

This my first post on this forum. Today I sign in and I decide to join Spitfire Grub Build.
My choice is Spitfire mk.Vb trop from Tamiya in 1/48 scale. For this kit I will used aftermarkets decals and PE parts from Eduard. Also I will used resin exhaust and canopy mask from Montex. I decide to paint with US army markings with shark mouth.
Obligatory box and sprue shoots.

I hope I finished the build before the end date.
Cheers

Hello Folks

First update on my site. Today I started working as usually on the cockpit. For now I painted them using first Tamiya XF-1 black and then XF-71 cockpit grreen. The black comes trough and it gives nice shadow effect. I also paint some small bits for cockpit and start gluing PE parts for the dials. I also glue together wing section. Everything is on the pictures below. I hope I will like it [smile]

Next I have dry-brushed the cockpit, add rest of the PE parts and add some wash to it. But this will be in the nest update. Stay on touch.
Cheers

That is some nice work. The EDUARD set is going to pay off very well. Both of us have to make the deadline!

Hello Folks

Next update:

Today my Spitfire start to look like Spitfire [smile]. I finished gluing together major components of this plane. This how it looks right now:

It will need a little bit of filler in some places but nothing serious, so it should go fast to the paint stage.
Cheers

Thanks guys.

I have plan to start primming my Spit at the weekend. Yesterday I replace the hispano cannons with the metal replacement. I need to do also some minor filling and re-scribing and it will be ready to go.

[thumb] If you finish this as you've started it will be an excellent job.  I have always liked the Spit in US markings as its a bit unusual.  Is it the sharkmouth from 52FG?
