Hi together,

and now to something completely different... ?

After watching some Videos here at Genessis I wanted to restart with the Modelling Hobby which I haven't done since quite a few Years. Honestly it is now 25 Years ago since I build my last Model.
At that time I built mainly Armored Vehicles but I thought I try to participate in the Spitfire Group Build.

The model I've choose is the Spitfire Mark Vb from Tamiya, which is a really nice model, but then I thought probably I wanted to do something different. And I found this...

During WW2 some Spitfires was captured from the Germans and tested. One Spitfire Mk. V was then refitted with a DB 605 Engine which is the same Engine used e.g. in the ME-109 G Models. It is said that the Test Pilots like it very much, because it is a combination of a very agile Airframe with an incredible engine.

So I like to build one of those.

So here you can see the Tamiya Kit, which seems to be comparable to the MK I Kit In Box Description from Mr. Waldron.
I'm sorry for the Images not uploaded. You can see them by following the below mentioned links.

As Isaid the Tamiya Kit is top. The Conversion Kit is from LF Models and included the complete Hull, Decals, New Prop and Spinner, as well as the Exhausts.

In the last photo you can see the LF Models Fuselage Section left and right comparing to the Tamiya ones.

Let's see how this works out.

I heard from the Fusion Conversion but couldn't get one for a reasonable pricing.

Found only one in Canada and that was out of discussion regarding Shipping/Taxes and so on.

So I go for the LF Models Solution.

Hi Stefan, the LF onversion looks nice too, might be a little easier too as the Fusion conversion required cutting the Tamyia nose off at the firewall and placing the conversion nose onto the Tamyia fuselage. That being said though, the Fusion nose fit perfectly..probably the best fitting conversion part I have ever used. Enjoy your build, it is a cool plane.
