Started painting the underside of the wings as I want them painted before assembling the moveable wing construction. In reality the light blue does look more, well... blue :-)

I will darken and weather the wings after applying the decals to blend them in.

Looks like the colors are a good match!

I really like the Akan paints, only wished I owned more of them!

I like them a lot! They spray very smooth. My local hobby shop as quite a few sets of them, lucky me :-)

Yes, it's starting to take shape :-). Fuselage halves are together, always a nice point in a build. Got the cockpit tub in there, the inner intake part, the exhaust tube and the wheel wells. Filled the nose with extra weight. The instructions don't call for it but just to be sure...
She already is looking fast :-)

Have to take care of the seems first and paint those wings to go on with the wing construction. I closed the airbrakes as on all the reference pictures I found they're closed. The plane doses look pretty cool from the back with open airbrakes - kind of the Predator lol

Thanks for taking time to have a look :-)

Great progress! How these Akan paints behave? They have nice Russian colors, but I wouldn't like yet another brand paints as I already have Tamiya, Lifecolor and Vallejo Air colors... And old Revell and Humbrol enamel paints and of course range of  Alclads.

I thing im gonna build that Mig-29 next, might order a set of the Akan paints to go with it

Thanks guys :-). I do like the AKAN (AKAH?) paint a lot. They spray very smooth and have a nice coverage. I like to spray with thin colors and in many layers, so I'm thinning the paint about 50/50 with Vallejo airbrush thinner. So far I can recommend the paints!

Wheel wells looks AMAZING! If you continue the build to that standard you will create something really special!

I may add that I used both Vallejo thinner and Bobby's formula with the Akan range and they both work great.

Finally got my parcel from Eduard :-)
Nice wheels, canopy masks and the seat belts, yey!

And painted the wings, ready for assembly. Tried to do some feathered transitions between the colors - that's harder than thought it will be. Hope I can cover up the little mistakes during weathering ;-)

I do like the colors though!

Really nice color combination indeed!!

Are the fabric seatbelts good? Never used any myself, but I recon that you can get a very natural look with them.

I do like them. A little fiddling but they do confirm very nice to the seat. Used them already in my last Phantom build and recently in an other rather long term project :-)
