Inspiring and awesome. That is a rare talent you have there. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress on this as you go.  [smile]

Right I have now actually measured the size of work so far (probably should have done this before)

And assuming the model I've based this on (all photos taken from web) doesn't have an unusually large head.

the sculpt is actually more on the lines of 1/5 (well 1/4.8 using my head as an average height guide)

And my moulding silicone and casting resin turned up today [biggrin] so I will be making some copies of this to work on (adding hats and shoulders) after I add some more details

Thanks for the comments

Today's work

Remodelled nose, added wrinkles, various lumps and eyebrows (hopefully he now looks like the person he's based on)

[_600_zps5710a57e]
[_599_zps6fa24092]
[_598_zps92950931]
[_596_zpsbbf11277]
[_597_zps5fe112a5]

Next step is getting him in the oven to harden and making a mould
Then comes the hat and shoulder section (or more likely hats and shoulder sections)

Thanks for looking

Stephen

Fantastic mate. Amazing sculpt. Great to watch the subtle changes as you refine it too. Really interesting stuff.

OMG Stephen that is awesome work my friend.

He already looks as though he's got a character and got stories to tell....if you know what I mean, without sounding a bit mental.
Incredible detail......where's that sub button...........

Do you plan on baking the Sculpey?

Have used Sculpey myself and once you get the hang of bunging your work in the oven it's amazing stuff.
Is this a one-off or will you be making a mould and possibly casting more?

Update (from a frustrating few days)

Mould first half set ready to pour silicone (raised up using polystyrene and air dry clay with hard board sides)

Started shoulder section Armature built and first layer of Sculpey added

[_605_zpsdc84e168]
[_606_zpscd164778]
[_607_zpsd6a22d08]
[_601_zpsd91f8b53]
[_603_zpsa96eaf5c]
[_611_zpsdb4342d8]

Next up (Hopefully) getting mould completed (so far 4 days for the 1 day 24 hr set Silicone to mostly set [mad] it looks like cold has effected the setting time)

Mould some heads and continue sculpt of shoulders (which i need heads to do)

Thanks for looking and comments

Stunning.

This is way beyond my ability, best I could do is the penguin in Wallace and Grommit in plasticine.

A pleasure to watch such tallented work Stephen.

This has got to be a pretty overwhelming project at times Stephen. Such inspiring work being done here and you head was beautifully sculpted. Only thing that kept running through my mind about it was that I wanted to paint it lol.

Keep going! This is amazing!
