Hello to all

My build will be this kit. As you can see, it includes two complete aircrafts. And i will build both. This is called a group build and i do a small group of Spitfires

If this build went well i would like to do a Spitfire in 1:48 scale. I just have to decide which of all these Spits i will do.

The backside of the box shows the marking options. I plan to do the both in the middle.

To put more details into the kits, i will use two sets of photoetch from Eduard. These two sets are for the Mk. IX from Hasegawa and Italeri.

Thats inside the box: an instruction sheet and the bag with the parts.

And here are the trees and the decal sheets.

In the big bag is a small bag with two PUR parts and the two clear parts. The clear parts are thin enough in my opinion and very clear.

The details in the kit are very nice i think. Hopefully it will went together without big problems. So lets start...

To start the build i first took the fuselage halves and the wing parts and put them together with some Tamiya tape to see how the fit will be.
The fit on the underside looks good.

But the top side

At the moment i think, i will spread the fuselage with some sprue before i glue the wing on the fuselage. If this not help i will fill and sand the gaps.

Then i looked through all my colors to find a good match for the RAF interior green. And i found nothing So i ordered Tamiya XF-71. With this order i bought another set of photoetched parts for this build. It is from Brengun and for the Sword Spitfire Mk. IXe.

I have also put together the first parts of one of the cockpits.

Those three little Items took me something between 2 and 3 hours to put them together. These together are just ten pe-parts and none of the three is finished yet...

Hi

I have started the second cockpit...

And i have begun to build both wing sections. Problem here is that i have to cut of the short wingtips and then to glue on the normal wingtips. After i had done this the first wing looked like this:

And here the other wing:

Then it was time for some filling and sanding. I used thick ca-glue to fill the gaps. One wing is nearly finished.

When i have finished this i will rescribe the lost panellines.

Great work so far! Those photoetch sets really do build up into nice cockpits!

Kit and PE in 1/72. I bow to you. my puny work with the super cobra 1/72 for 'practice' taught me a lesson about the small scale. you have my admiration
and best wishes.

Hello to all
It is quite some time since my last post. I had no real interest to build model kits. Now my interest is back and i managed to get some work done.
I have completed both cockpits. Currently i have only photos of the seats.

Seat one:

Seat two:

I know the gluemarks on the second seat do not look good and i currently think about how i can correct this. If someone has an idea i would like to hear it.

And i still rescribe parts of the wings:

All that detail in 1/72. I'm still trying to imagine the PE and how small it would be. Best wishes as you continue to build.

Thanks for the wishes. Those small pe-bits are often a real nightmare. But sometimes i need this[biggrin].

I installed the cockpits and joined the fuselage halfs. After filling and sanding i replaced some panellines and then i joind the wings with the fuselage and yes i than filled sanded and rescribed.

I then installed the rudders and tailplaines and i cut the canopys into three pieces each and masked the six parts and then installed them. Now both are ready for primeing.
