Very nice Paul !

That is a shed load of detail right there mate and I can't wait to see you get some colour on, plenty of weathering shenanigans ahead I reckon

Bandai kit really seems to be very good fit! Nicely done, I really wait for weathering!

sorry for the lack of news guys,

I've been waiting for some paint to come.

I want to give this thing a good weathering so I thought i'd give the salt chipping technique a go.

I started with a dark grey as a base and sprayed over some water and a sprinkling of salt.

then over coated with a pale grey.

once dry I rubbed away the salt leaving loads of little chips.  I rubbed at the paint with a sanding sponge to give a worn look.

unfortunately I wasn't totally happy with the look as the salt had made the paint look a bit patchy and the chipping wasn't looking quite right in this scale.

a respray later and I think it's looking a bit better.  the chipping etc I'll put back in with a sponge later.
the stickers that come with the kit came in really handy for masking the blue stripe on the side of the cockpit.

bit more for you:

it really is a great looking kit this one.
so much detail right out of the box there's really nothing you can add by scratch building that isn't already there.

the only thing that can spoil it is a dodgy paint job [wink]
