It’s a rather sobering thought that, at fifty or so years old, this kit is probably older than some of the members of this forum.  Having said that, there was not the heap of problems one might expect from a kit this old.  Yes, there were a few, but I overcame them using some of the old techniques I remember from when I was much younger.

And this is the kit I always wanted as a kid, but never got, so by building this kit now I have laid that ghost to rest.

I did much more scratch-building that was probably good for my sanity, and there’s no doubt this build would have been finished weeks earlier if I hadn’t bothered.  In future I will ask myself, is this effort worth it?  Will it enhance the finished model?  Can it even be seen?  If the answer to any of those questions is no, then I shall leave it well enough alone.

But it’s done, and here it is.  Hope you enjoy it!

In case you missed it first time around, and since 95% of it is now all but invisible, here’s some of the scratch-building I did.

Love the colour scheme and all that scratch built detail !
One very tidy build mate, easily good enough to be used for the box art for the kit !! [wink]
Definitely one to be proud of [smile]

Nice that you've included photos of the interior in the final reveal too [thumb]

Thanks, Choppa!  Box art for the kit?  Wow, that's truly high praise!  Not sure it's that good, but thank you!

to be fair it's at least as good as if not better than quite a lot of models you see on
Revell or Airfix kits that used to put photos of complete models on the box art,
I reckon Frog might want to use it [wink]

Hey, congrats on this beautiful finish! This is a great looking plane with a very cool livery. Very well done and great attention to detail. Really like that you went the extra mile to add all those details and rivets, even when not all of it is visible on the pictures. Very much enjoyed following your WIP. You have set the bar high for this GB 😊
