Thanks guys. You make me smile lol.

Metal Mickey. Ha! I see it.

I finished scribing the upper hull and glued the big a@@ 125mm smooth bore cannon. I had to sand some of the detail off of it to get rid of the seams, but I added them back with some sprue. I also embellished the mantlet cover as the stock piece was a little bland. I reshaped and scribed the rubber dust covers on the fenders as well.

The detail level on this kit is pretty dang good. Its no Dragon kit, but its not far behind in terms of detail level. Its much better than the old T-90B kit I did some time ago as well. The details were much thicker on the old kit. This one is much better. Still a little soft in some respects or I wouldn't feel the need to scribe all of these panel lines, but still very good.

Now that I've gotten this cleaned up, its time to add some details of my own to dress this up a little more.  [smile]

I added some of the ERA blocks on the turret last night. Then I attempted to add the piece that represents the co-ax port to the right of the gun tube. However it decided it didn't want to cooperate and pinged out of the tweezers never to be seen again.

Not that I'm complaining. It just forced me to make a replacement with better detail. Its a bit of a miniature triumph for me as I didnt think I could craft such a little thing without breaking it or utterly ruining it in the attempt lol

I will be drilling this out later.  [smile]

Thanks, mates!!  [smile]

Now, lets see what I've been up to.  [wink]

These little buggers right here have been more than a little bit of a PITA to re-engineer and I've lost most of the surface detail of the screens by doing this. But in this scale I'm going to find it even more difficult to add that screen texture back to them. Not sure what I'll do to fix that little problem yet. Ideas are welcome, if I can find suggested materials.

So why am I doing this? Weeeeellllllllll.....

I've got to have an edge in this competition. You are all VERY good artists here. Natural talent all over the place. Since I'm competing with a bunch of top aircraft builders and a few other armor guys as well, I'm going give this some of my best effort. Especially if Pete pulls out another carrier deck!!

I'm hoping that this will give me a bit of an edge. [smile]

Yeah. I went there. LOL!

Maybe one of us Armor guys can win this one lol!!

Alright, alright. Lets have some FUN!!  [biggrin][biggrin][biggrin][biggrin][biggrin][biggrin][biggrin][biggrin][biggrin]

all you need now is some smoke and some RC gear so it can drive about and make a video [biggrin]
.......... and a diorama ....
you got any 1/72 Russian figures ? [smile]

we need to see what those lights were supposed to look like before we can annoy you with suggestions [wink]

I know what you mean about the intimidating plethora of talent in this GB, us mortals have to start thinking out of the box ..... [smile]

I went looking for a good picture, but found my answer, I think.

Yeah, we have to do what we can to stand out with these guys, right? lol

No 1/72 figures at all.  [frown]

But I though about the RC route as well. I don't think I could go that route without spending cash I don't have.  :/

At least 27 options for Modern Russian Soldiers in 1/72 [wink]

https://www.scalemates.com/search-solr.php?fkSECTION[]=Kits&q=Russian+Soldiers+%28Modern%29

3 figures Russian tankmen in a "cowboy" uniform" [biggrin]

anyhow as for RC the cheap way is to buy this RC Tiger 1/72 for £12 all in
and gut the bits out of it and adapt it to fit your chassis, handy if your kit has rubber tracks  [smile]

More expensive but an easier starting point at £40 ish .......

Not sure what cowboy uniform that is supposed to be. Where are the ten gallon hats?

No rubber tracks and I think I'm going with a base for this, so no RC conversion for this one.

Yeah, it would be an extra complication to do all that RC conversion stuff,
still though with your extra detailing and lights on a dio base it should look epic [biggrin]

I truly am hoping so. These lights should end up being the icing on the cake, so to speak lol. I've got to start a base so I can figure out how I need to modify the suspension. I've always admired the look of a tank with the suspension in action. It gives it more of a realistic stance. I'm going to need that I think.

"These lights should end up being the icing on the cake"

more like the cherries on the cake [wink]

like the idea of adapting the suspension to conform to uneven ground

So do I. And further more, you rarely ever see it done in 1/72.

usually because the wheels and tracks are mold as one ! [smile]

weird track arrangement on this tank, I'm not a fan of plastic lengths of track, much prefer the rubber ones as you can RC them.
although those click together plastic links look cool as do the metal ones... can you even get metal tracks for 1/72 ?
