Hi guys. I started a side build next to my current side build (F-15E). I know I shouldn't’t but did it anyway ;-). I had this little kit for a while in my stash en the talking on the forum about making the next GB all about Japan got me excited. Yes, I’m talking about the Zero. My favorite WWII aircraft.
I didn't’t plan to post this build as an entry for the current GB but the detail, simplicity and excellence fit of this Tamiya kit is so good I thought I might share this build as well. I hope you like it. Let’s see how far I’ll get with the Zero.

As I started this kit two week ago I’m happy to share some pics of the cockpit. I used some PE parts but to be honest the cockpit provided by Tamiya would do the job absolutely fine without any help by Eduard.

Those pictures really show how tiny those details actually are.

Done this kit and Eduard addon once. I think it's the best Zero in 1/72. I'm interested how you finish it. I've done 137 one. 😉

I know, very nice build. I’m going for the same one, like the white stripes 😊

Got some bench time this weekend. Building is more or less finished and got some primer on.

Thanks! I was also doubting if I should do the flaps. Cutting into nice plastic is always kind of a hard decision... but they where part of the PE set, so why not use them 😅. I think they will add some nice extra detail to the kit.

Yes, they look cool. But I dont have electric powered drill with polishing things, to sand it carefully and I wasn't shure I could do it good by hand. But you did great job sanding them! 😉

I also don’t have powered tools but thinking about getting a “dremel” (is this English? 😅)

Yes, it's that thing. I don't risk to sand big chunks of plastic without it.
