True, magic paint, lol. Already wondering how the color will look after some weathering. I thing my iPhone trying to optimize the colors. With the red decals she’s turning more towards yellow in the pictures...

Thank you guys. Really love the Zero, my favorite! Hoping for an all Japan theme for the upcoming GB with plenty Zeros 😊

Tried using oil colors to make the exhaust stains. Quite like the result. Getting somewhere with this little build. Next will be some chipping. Planing to try out color pencils. Saw this in a magazine and I'm curious if it works for me.

I agree about the exhaust stains. Looks exactly like what would happen with airflow!

I like using oil colors for weathering. As they are drying very slowly you have a lot of time “shifting” the paint around. And it’s very easy to remove on a gloss surface in case you messed up :-). Will use this more often on future builds.
And yes, getting there and I expect having the Zero ready before the deadline. Not so sure about the B-17 though 😅

Hi guys! Added a little more weathering and got the landing gear finished and ready for installing. I should soften the edges of some of the added oil colors now I can see the enlarged picture.

Weathering with oils is something I'm experimenting with, and learning all the time.  Yours looks great, I hope to reach that standard some day.
