Hi all i won this kit off ebay a while ago never heard of waco kits before and it was advertized as diacast (its not its pressed steel) was very impressed with the packaging but the model itself is very basic if I hadnt painted it, even I could have put it together in less than an hour the detail (it says on the box finely detailed) is none existant. anyway here it is in all its glory(still got to put it on a base) best packaged kit I've ever bought shame its the least detailed kit  , the wheels are the worst bit they are so thin so there is nothing you can do with the back of them and they are some sort of vynle paint enamel or acrylic wont stick to.

That's very nice Ken !

I've not seen a pressed steel kit before, did the body come as one piece or did it screw together ?
That's a beautiful effect on the paintwork too, how did you achieve it mate, is it a 2 tone or a flip ? It looks amazing

Hi pete the body screws together I sprayed the red first. Sprayed the whole car with that let it dry put 5drops of red in the ab then 2 drops of blue then just wetted where I wanted the colour change to start then added 2 drops of red and 5 drops of blue and blended that then filled the ab with blue and sprayed from the front upto the area where I started the blending going back to the front upto a little less far back then front to even less far back and continued like that Untill it was solid blue at the front. Probably not explained very well but hope you get the idea. Would have been easier with 2 abs could have blended wet but don't have 2 so that's my method with one. And any dry spray disappears when it is lacquered.

That is a fantastic paint job. Too bad it looks like a dollar store pull back racer KP. You made it look good though. Really good.

Sorry guys i know about its not a detailed kit did what I could not that that's much will never buy another waco kit I think it's such a shame all parts in a separate bubble packaging what moulded parts there were were well moulded if the quality of the moulding and the packaging were continued with the research I would pay double for this kit I don't even know what scale it is would guess at 1/20 but don't know.

Nothing to be sorry about KP. You did a fabulous job with what was provided. You should be proud. That type of paint job is not easy. I know most of us guys here couldn't replicate it.
