The kit:

Mock up shows problems with the bonnet:

And that the Hemi engine is too wide for the bonnet sides:

And since I want to use the Hemi, this gave me the perfect excuse to dispense with the bonnet sides. LOL

Base Silver paint laid:

Base clear red applied:

Finally gloss clear laid down to.

This is too cool!

Forget the bonnet sides the exposed heni is the way to go.

Colour looks great, does it have a pearl over he orange?

Thanks both.

Finally making progress again.

Engine completed and installed, wheels on and detailed, fabric on roof. (courtesy of a fresh roll of Micropore and patience)

I really like the red and yellow interior! Think it'll sit lovely against the red bodywork

Thanks Gnarkil.

Ted..... the basis of good paint as always is in good prep. From styrene to pre-gloss I lightly sand with 8000 grit.

I used to use 2k auto clear but have discovered an aerosol clear that works just as well. The shine could be further improved by polishing the clear but I absolutley HATE polishing!!! LOL.
