Well, it feels good to have completed this GB. After a pretty good start to the build life got busy and I didn't have time for it but I started on it again, not sure if I could finish in time, but here it is all done and I'm happy with the results. As mentioned in my build thread, the kits are a Tamiya 1/72 P-51 Mustang and an Eduard 1/72 FW-190 A5 profi-pack, which after purchasing an accessory pack of sprues, had enough parts for 2 planes. Both kits were beautiful, easy and straight forward builds. Both kits where built out of the box with the exception on aftermarket pilots which came from PJ productions. Paints used on the P-51 were Alclad II for the aluminum and Tamiya paints for everything else. On the FW-190's I used a mix of Tamiya and Vallejo Model Air. My idea for this diorama was to have the P-51 attacking the 2 FW-190's from behind and above. The final diorama depicts the moment the FW-190's realize they are being attacked and are breaking to either side to get away. I hope you like it, here are the final photos.......1 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr2 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr3 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr4 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr5 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr6 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr7 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr8 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr9 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr10 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr11 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr12 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr13 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr14 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr15 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr16 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr17 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr18 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr19 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr20 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr21 by Tim Ashton , on Flickr As always, thanks for looking

Tim, I have no idea why I did not get an email about your finish. I'm subscribed to the project.I like it....no, I love it . You did excellent work on the planes and IMHO the angles of the planes in relationship to each other is perfect. I can feel the ACTION in the pictures . Great work all round! I've wanted to do something like this but I'm chicken. I'm really chicken of metal colors.Congratulations on an outstanding result! Ted

Thank you Ted. About the metal colours, I was very afraid when it came time to paint with Alclad. I had used it about 15 years ago but forgot how it worked but all my worrying was for nothing. I can't believe how easy it is to spray, it dries rock hard and quickly, no need to clear coat and the decal solutions had no bad effects on the finish. I'm actually looking forward to using it again on new builds in the future, maybe even the 1/72 GB if that gets voted through. Bottom line is go for it. Tim

Hi Tim, absolutely love it. I was wondering how the finished setup would look like but it turned out great. Gives me some inspiration for a future plane build :) Love how three completely different ideas turned into great builds and dioramas!
