This was a kit I made when I was a kid in the land of black and white TV's, red phone boxes, wobbly Dr Who sets and tube glue.  So when I saw on ebay I had to get it.  A lass it did not cost 30p.  Here is a link to the build http://genessis-models.websitetoolbox.com/post/172-airfix-f80-shooting-star-7296413?&trail=15

I don't suppose you have a picture of all of them in one place Ian? I'm seeing that you have quite a collection of 1/72 aircraft and see them all together would be a treat! [biggrin]

Gorgeous build on a kit we all remember from back in the day and is so far from current standards. Beautiful work on ringing a classic back to life. [thumb]

Very, very nice job Ian! I too wouldn't mind seeing your display. Very impressive work.
I think I'll jump back into some 1:72's myself after these couple of big builds.
Getting bogged down a bit with the biggies.

WoW nice work always loved the shooting star growing up in the 80's the air force still had a few of these so I was fortunate enough to see and hear one of these fly and for those that know the jets of the 50's an 60's always had that ultimate thundering sound unlike some of the jets used today I will always  remember that sound. of course it was different technology with jets engines back then.

I have took these photo's of what I have done so far.  The ones that are missing are the 1/72 Airfix Sea Harrier FRS1, Airfix Harrier GR3, Captain Scarlet Intercetor (all in flight displays) and a Dragon 1/700 HMS Illustrious on a seascape.  These were given away as gifts.  Any way here there are in the display cabinets.
