Only entered one GB on this forum before and I didn't finish so I hope for a better outcome this time. I have so many ideas but I have cut them down to two and I start with this one (the other is based around the Polikarpov I-16).

I will base my idea around the T-34 and hopefully create a diorama of a battle scared street in Berlin after the fighting ended.

The main inspiration photo, not a T-34 but anyway you get the idea

Box and content of the main kit

I will add metal tracks from Friul but otherwise it will be built OOB.

I've got some other kits and figures to go along but I'm not sure of what to use and not so will present them when the time comes.

So off we go!

Not very sure I got those skills either Steven. But I'm confident that I will have a real fun time trying[biggrin]

At least I got this to help me get started

Yes...an Armour entry, and a great choice.
Those Friulmodel tracks are great, I did some for a Chieftain Project I am doing. Lovely and weight, I would recommend redrilling the tracks when they are together (but not all the way through) before you insert the brass wire.

Good luck with your build.

I heard some bad things about the miniart kits but I think it's all about expectations, if you don't know that it's  vaccum formed then I can understand the disappointment. But I think it looks great at least for the price.

Oh, a Shilka would love to see that!

Yep, it is.

That kit is a reboxed Hasegawa, is it not? If so I built it and it's great, no fit issues what so ever if I remember correctly, maybe it lacks a little details but I'm sure Eduard has taken care of that in their reboxing.

Thanks for the tips! I spent most of this evening preparing the track links, gave them all a light sand...and they gave me a sore thumb...

First build day have come to an end and this is todays result

Worked on the lower hull and suspension, so far a great fit, no flash and a minimum of mold lines. There are some pin marks but so far in hidden places.

Also started working on the tracks

And cut out the first pieces of the mini art kit, will go to a hardware store tomorrow to get some big sheets of sand paper so i can sand the back flat.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks Wim!

Spent a fair amount with the tracks today, fun? Would rather like to call it meditative [biggrin]. But I love the result.

In addition to the tracks I  have continued working with the miniart kit today.

Added strips from the "sprue" as position guides and to make the construction a bit more stable.

Lots of pegs, working slow and steady...

I will try to make the basic elements of the base before I continue with the tank, partly because of all the dust from foam board and such and also because I want to be sure how I will position everything in the scene.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers!!

Those tracks really are worth getting, the weight is great.
Nice start on the diorama.
