Looks like you have obtained AM components to strengthen this kit where it needs the most help. I had some difficulty getting good alignment with the forward part of the fuselage which is multiple parts. You will do fine and I look forward to the end product. This kit definitely needs help in cockpit area (the kit ejector seat is non descript lump of plastic when compared to brassin one) And we begin with Cockpit All colours are taken from eduard colour call out roughly cockpit give coat of Mr hobby 308 (I've forgot the name of colour and managed to spill paint over the label Black areas are done with Tamiya rubber black All areas where given a wash of a mix of Flory models dark dirt and black wash (more clean off required from this stage) And dry brushed with the 308 paint and vallejo model colour light grey mix Then Start of photo etch adding (some of these pieces are smaller in width than my tweezers pointed ends) (Sorry some of the photos are a little out of focus) Even the control stick has photo etch added (where would I be without the magnifying head set) Next up more photo etch adding and start building the body Thanks for looking and comments Stephen __________________ http://s508.photobucket.com/user/sashepherd3/library/?sort=3&page=0

Been tempted by this let so many times for the price especially, always put off by the fit reviews so will be watching this so see what issues you encounter (hopefully none!) __________________

And the least component part of the build begins Also know as the actual plane Starting by adding the top air intakes and opening them up as on kit these are moulded with no gaps Started by cutting each of flaps off its neighbour and sanding down to open up Then gluing each one into fuselage section A some what blurry image but this is the open flaps (behind is next piece to be opened up) Next up cockpit added to fuselage and rest of photo etch fitted (well the bit big enough to actually see) Thanks for looking and comments Stephen __________________ http://s508.photobucket.com/user/sashepherd3/library/?sort=3&page=0

A quick update Filling and filling and filling and sanding I think this kit is showing its age with the exception of join behind cockpit (which had a small step), all of the joints had an inward bow and some shrinkage. Which after several dry fits and holding in position still required heavy filling. On the back of nozzle section this needed some styrene pieces. But all done now just waiting for filler to cure then re sanding and scribing begins. Nice Academy kit, with the new nose and more will make it into a stunner.... the extra work on the air intakes looked hard, but it does make the the area look great

Finally back to this one After a few hours more filling sanding and rescribing I fitted rest of cockpit top details (well the ones that need painting, pre coloured sections will be added later) Wings and tails added, fit on wings is not particularly good (down to bad moulding on components) so more filling and rescribing needed. next up (possibly a bit of re riveting) finishing wing sections and start painting Thanks for looking and comments Stephen __________________ http://s508.photobucket.com/user/sashepherd3/library/?sort=3&page=0
