Today's update

Added the target thingy to top of control panel (have no idea what its actually called).
Consists of 3 pieces of clear film 1 clear resin disc and 1 bit of photo etch.

fiddly to say least but i seem to have got it to work (sadly a bit to much glue on top of film parts).

Thanks for looking (sorry for not so sharp pics, done on phone as camera)

You are making this kit work so much better than my eternity with it. I bought (2) online for a ridiculous bargain and thought I had it made! Totally agreed on the pitiful kit seat! Crack on, great to watch you work.

Thanks guys

the extra detail provided by resin and photo etch is great. Sadly my skills in the rescribing etc are failing me ( how I miss armour builds ). Just gave whole thing a coat of primer and found all my mistakes (and several of bits on kit that don't fit well) so more filling sanding and rescribing.
Mojo for this one is on a low, but it will be completed by end of GB (1/35 Jagdtiger is calling which doesn't help)

Shoot a coat of primer (xf19) over fuselage

shows up some of my errors (some of panel lines i put back in are a bit heavy [frown])

[DSC_0120-01_zps2xn9bkdt]

Will get some pre shading done then its on to camo work and building the ejector seat (gulp it has almost as many parts as fuselage)

Thanks for looking and comments

Yes mood improved by getting paint on [smile]

Preshading done with Vallejo model air black brown

[DSC_0124-01_zpsb5rwv4ax]

Underside basecoated with Tamiya XF20 then lightened in panel centres with XF20 + white (thinned with Mr colour thinner which seems to give a nice smooth finish).

Next the top and camo

Thanks for looking and comments

Today's update

Built resin parts of ejector seat

The bits (also needs some wire added)

[DSC_0143-01_zpshislpswm]
built up
[DSC_0147-01_zpscdf1ncop]
[DSC_0151-01_zps9uc6xdzk]

Also built landing gear added some cables (only larger ones as ref I'm using has 5 or so on each one)
Some conversion work done on front gear as kit comes with rear guard but ref I am using has one on front not rear (new one built using the original kit part and some cutting)

[DSC_0159-01_zpsqms6btjd]

And final bit for today

Painted sand grey upper section camo (using same mix as underside), lots of faded panels.

[DSC_0138-01_zps9nltb2sh]

Next up finishing camo painting ejector seat and the rest of the parts (landing gear, doors etc)

Thanks for looking and comments

Today's update

Painted ejector seat (just need to add coloured photoetch) all will be covered up when installed but hey ho, i will know its painted
[DSC_0186-01_zpsnxcaksnw]
[DSC_0184-01_zpsrtulck7m]

And painted the green parts of camo scheme, again lots of very faded panels. this is being based on a museum outdoor display example so very faded but will be pretty clean otherwise (cockpit will be open as the detail would be hidden otherwise and the canopy is a rubbish fit even with out additional photoetch)

[DSC_0173-01_zpsrbewba0i]

next up the anti glare and other bits

Thanks for looking and comments

Camo is stunning bud!

At leat your harnesses are pre pained! My mig-31 were brass with the kit but I think I got it working ok.

Thanks

Yes pre painted is good, does limit my options to give them some life though (i never find paint likes being twisted or bent)
Yours look good to me, and have a nice bit of lived in look.
