Hello!

Finally finished my do-17z diorama. I've never attempted a water scene before and have learned a lot from it. I'm also working on getting better and photographing the finished model. I used all Vallejo paints for the first time, and I really like the dropper type bottle. Made it much easier when adding paint to the airbrush, and which mixing. I could just count drops instead of using a separate eye-dropper to measure, and while I am not fully sold on the authenticity of their RLM colors, I am sold on their bottle type.

I researched the plane the kit decals are based on when I started. I found this plane was shot down over England and ended up in a hop field. The crash was so bad it is hard to tell what type of plane it is at all. I decided to have a nicer crash, and selected water for this.  I modeled the bullet strikes off another Do-17z that was brought down by .303's.

This is my first attempt at a diorama, I think next time I'll go a bit easier [smile]

This is really great Seth! First congrats on finishing :-). The water diorama is fantastic, very convincing. I can imagine that it is quite nerve wrecking to put your model into that sticky stuff, isn't it? It's a very creative idea and I like the research going with it. And than the actual build: very nice skills, especially in that small scale. The bulletholes are very cool. Overall a great contender mate, good luck! "te gek jonge" ;-)

Nicely done and congrats on finishing. Very creative idea and your research really paid off. Is that a pilot in the pilots seat?
