Just got an email from BNA saying they have these in stock. Super impressed with AK's acrylics. Anyone looked at these yet?

Yes. I picked up a few of these, mostly the aluminium finishes and have started using them on various bits and pieces. I've also combined them with some Testors ModelMaster metal paints that I used over them with no problems. They spray beautifully and really look the part. A very nice fine pigment in the paint and quite a realistic effect. One of the more convincing metal paints out there.  I haven't yet had a reason to mask over them, but I do suspect they will be tad fragile, so care will be needed.

Although really intended for spraying with an airbrush, I've also been able to use them for brush painting some small pieces too. I use the aluminium paint for brush painting a couple of parts on my Eduard ME109 instrument panel and was very pleased with the finish I obtained with the brush.

That all said I am impressed enough already that I have started an English Electric Lighting project that will make good use of them and I  do intend to get some more colours in the range.

I can recommend you get a few of them and try them out yourself.

I have a couple of them, mostly aluminium and i am really satisfied. They spray on nice and even if you flood the area you spray
it drys back just smooth, not like alclads. i also used it for detailing with a brush and it worked really nice.

46+ minutes......I really want to try this stuff.
He put it through the paces and compared it to the manufacturer video---proof in the pudding and all that.
I am GLAD that he came back after 18 hours of drying time---that was my one question after the first part of the tape test.
SO............tape masking better after priming, but with dark priming you lose some of the natural metal finish of the paint by itself. Hmmmm.......
Paint directly on plastic---better metal color but bad for tape masking.
I still want to try some. put it on the want list.

If you have a look at Phil's F-104 Starfighter build he has no problems with masking. Apparently the batch he did that test (above) with were not up to spec. If you watch the Starfighter build you'll buy the whole range (which I have) it is that good.

What about this? I saw several videos, and this paint looks really cool, even without airbrush.

I watched Bobby video first reviewed on the AK Xtreme metals, then saw that Flory Models do a review of the same product.
After seeing Flory review, I thought some thing wasn't right. If Bobby review he had no problems. Then I saw that Flory Models had
another review of the product again for Nov.12th, 2015. It seem that Phil got a bad batch of the Xtreme metals.

As with any new product there will be bugs or should I say Teething Problems.
I haven't tried ot yet but will be as soon as I get every thing I need to get back into modeling.
