that looks like one cool kit and at 1/6 that is going to be a decent sized model when complete.

One to follow [smile]

Day 1

Yes this is a very cool kit. First time I've built a figure on this scale.

But I think all the mould lines sink marks and non aligning components from Bandai kits got used here.

one of the better fitting pieces

[snapseed-29_zps86csg3jf]

After many sandings and fillings (though they all still need more sanding filling and final polishing) only body and lower leg sections to go

[snapseed-30_zpsnu1wdv4a]

Thanks for looking

Lots of the vehicles and characters from that SW movie are interesting. Looks like a kit that will make an impressive figure when you transform it into one of your art works!

Next step the sanding and filling of the stap

Thanks for looking and comments

Roger, Roger!

Those battle droids are awful but the kit looks pretty good. Are you going to put C3P0's head on it?

FYI The Rogue One trailer just went online. The true prequel to Star Wars!

that trailer looks a lot more interesting than Ep.7 !! [smile]
I hope they've understood the critique of Ep.7 and not let JJ Abrams anywhere near the set when they're filming it [biggrin]

Nice to see the droid in one bit btw [wink]
I quite like the design of the STAP droid, not the best robot in the world but I do like the pragmatism of the design,
it looks like it could work, with the right technology installed,
but then again, anything could be made to work with the "right" technology installed [wink]

Yes all limbs and head are movable (only in one axis though)
I don't plan to leave them like this and will be glueing into final position as if I don't this model will just collapse under its own weight

Stap bits almost ready for putting together.

[snapseed-33_zps55txnlgg]

Still a lot more sanding and filling to go but almost at primer stage.

Thanks for looking and comments

Just measured the Stap and the Droid just to see how tall they stand.

each measures in at 12 inch tall and whole thing will be in region of 18 - 20 inch tall.

Making this my largest single figure painted, This is going to be fun

Stap built (filling continues)

[snapseed-35_zps44kmbi4w]
[snapseed-37_zpstscp5a7h]
Sorry no banana for scale so tamiya paint pot will have to stand in

All was going so well (despite the endless seam filling) and then I got distracted will working and put wings on upside down

this should be the top
[snapseed-38_zpsy7cnc4ze]

not this
[snapseed-39_zpstl9vzhiv]

So next job will be scribing the detail missing in (and more sanding and filling [frown])

Thanks for looking and comments

Nightmare putting the wing on upside down mate but at least there's not a ton of scribing to do to put the detail in.

It's a massive beast ! I'm really looking forward to seeing the paint job

Scribed on the detail that should be on top of wings (currently original detail is still on bottom and will stay to remind me to read twice glue once)

[DSC_0002-01_zpstzjceveb]

And I got the droid glued into shape (which required an extra 8 arms and a jig made of old kitchen rolls) clips holding hands in place will leg joints dry, feet now held in place with elastic bands (only on far side in this shot)
[DSC_0006-01_zpsvpwqdeeh]

Next step the under coat [smile]

Thanks for looking and comments
