Just finished up these locos.  Custom paint and decals.  Did some pin washes and top fading with a flat coat.  The sun shades were scratch built from wine bottle foil wrapping and bronze phosphor for the frame.

I'm pleased, but I would be curious how Bobby would attack a project like this.  They are pretty tiny.  Each engine just over 2 inches (57mm) long.

Is this smaller than N guage?

It's lovely. I've always had a fascination about railway layouts since I was a kid. I think it was due to the fact that you were at eye-level to the track and they looked so realistic (that and model villages).

Thanks for showing this on the forum, do you have any more pics to show?

Appreciate the kind remarks.  You inspire me with your work.

These are all N scale models.

this entire project is overwhelming, ESPECIALLY considering the scale. So mush detail, and realism. congrats on a real winner!

Excellent work.  This brings back memories.  When I was a kid my Dad built an "N" layout all the way around my brother and my bedroom.  In fact the beds I think were attached to the frame.  We lived just outside of Chester in the UK so of course all the rolling stock was LMS, GWR and British Rail.

Mitch, those photos look almost real....N gauge. ..amazing.
I know this forum is largely an Aircraft forum, so I take it you are showing these on a Railway base forum, if not you should be.

Great to see them. [thumb]

Ian, what a great thing to have in your bedroom as a kid.

U2Milo...Very nice to see some railroad modeling on this forum.  Your work is excellent for what is such a small scale.  You must have very good eyes!
