This really looks amazing. I'm absolutely unfamiliar with this so can't tell what front and back but like the look of it big time. Great work!

Nice update bud !! [smile]

Really enjoyed watching the series again, actually there was a lot I hadn't seen before so cheers for inspiring me to watch it ! [biggrin]
just 4 of the 6 movies to go, if I can get my hands on them that is ! [wink]

Anyhow, everything looking ship shape, no problems with the gloss then [biggrin]

Thanks for comments!

I have learned how to gloss in this project, I haven't have need for this high gloss in the past, but now I know how it can be achieved.

Now all the decals are on (and electrical wire is still in place..):

[043_Warp_shadow_killer_decals_top_all-800]

The measurements of of decals were not ideal as can be seen around the forward gun bays. There I must do some painting. And all the decals didn't go too well: some silvering, in those areas I put clear varnish underside of the decal and some air bubbles/wrinkles, which are much more time consuming. Although this is supposed to be living ship, so some imperfections are allowed..?

Started fourth season, third was good, but there is White Star on the top of the fourth season! I haven't seen the movies as many times as the series, perhaps this time I'll watch all the movies too. They are not as good as the series if I remember right.

[044_Warp_shadow_killer_guns_ready-800]
Guns got some paint: Still gun metal in 2260.. (Alclad gun metal and some Humbrol dry brushing)

[046_Warp_shadow_killer_guns_in_place-800]
Wing guns in place with some dust.

Overall shot from below, all things glued in place here.

View from another angle to demonstrate the spikes..

Really nice overall, love it [smile]

You really are on the finishing leg now,
just the rear fins and top pod to do I guess ? [smile]

One small thing though, the gun barrels on the wing tips could do with the ends
straightening up a little bit as there is some small bends/deviations from aligned
squarely, like I said, small thing though [smile]

Anyhow I would still like to watch the remaining movies as I've never seen them.
Also I've heard they might be rebooting it as a new movie or something, not entirely
sure but cool if they are [smile]

Anyhow.... Nice work so far Thatmas [biggrin]

Choppa Nutta:

Thanks, I'll need every nice word from my build now, but from that later. I guess I'm on the finishing leg now.. But that is what bothers me, there is still somethings to do, but those aren't going to make big difference in appearance: Engine glow and lights, laser beam, stand.

Rear fins and top pod are something that really put everything against me:

[049_Warp_shadow_killer_fin-800]
The fins paint was removed with Klear cote (and fell of of the model too)
[050_Warp_shadow_killer_pod-800]
Top pod refused to co-operate with me on the tight turn behind the pod. Multiple layers of clear cote and it still isn't filled or stuck to the surface.

I know the gun barrels seems not to be straight (on the fartherest wing), but he main reason for this is that they are not entirely copies of each other and there is some strange bending on it and they are different in length wise. I couldn't get any good pictures about this matter.

If you have never seen those movies, I think they are ok. But if I remember right they are not the standards expected from the show and some kind of not tied to the show too well. 'In the Beginning' is the best of the movies if my memory serves me right. Those other three are

The Lost Tales was the last try to revive the series. Not bad but still quite tired. Too few people to act which bothered most (and the plot wasn't too special either). The Rangers was terrible and I sold that dvd and pretend it never happened as Crusade.. I haven't heard anything about the newer thing (after it was announced 2014) that was supposed to be reboot or something. Not a good sounding idea.

Some other "progress"?:

I'm in quite low mojo now becouse those from above and those decals around forward guns bothered me and I tried to fix that:
[048_Warp_shadow_killer_gun_port_repair_1-800]
I painted the missing parts around the gun sites. Paint seemed to be the same color, but when it dried the color seems to be off. Color also reacted with my Klear cote. I filed the paint off of the right hand side and salvaged some decals, which were cut of around the ship after they have dried. It still looks quite horrible and I need some time to figure out what to do next.

Now I'll make some of my other models as there is some time left until group build ends. Besides there is so much everything else to do in springtime. And the fourth season maybe gives me some nice references or scenes, although I don't need references anymore and this is the one that was destroyed in Z'ha'dum (all those other White Stars after about that time have different kind of skins on the after parts as they lost those skins from their computers).

for that top pod I think you may have to cut away some of the decal clear bits to make it conform more easily [smile]

Still though, good progress all round and nearly finished, can't stop now !! [biggrin]

Choppa Nutta: I didn't quite understand your advice. If you meant with that pod I tried to cut away, but there is some blue which I don't want to get rid of. Perhaps that is the only way though. The more  difficult one is the surroundings of the guns. Now sanding that paint of from the left hand side gun port and hating every minute.. There is many planes that are calling my name in my stash, I can hear them!

if you cut around the blue bits so they stay in place and cut away the clear bits of the decal the remaining blue bits will conform better [smile]

anywhere there is a problem cut out the clear bit of the decal [smile]

The planes can wait a little longer [wink]

Choppa Nutta: I'll try that for the pod. Maybe I'll do just a little bit something to the aircraft (finish one in my assembly line) to retain my sanity but push this through without bigger delay.

Not much time to do anything with modelling, but I managed to do something for White Star:

[051_Warp_shadow_killer_nose_corrected-800]
Not perfect, but some salvaged (already used) decals and some Lifecolor UA036 grey used around gun ports and they are a little better than last time...

I finished fourth season and perhaps I don't continue to fifth season at all, there was satisfying ending for everything. Perhaps I'll look some of those movies (1h 30 min each...)

This time there is some size comparison between Hobby Boss 1/72 A-7 and Warp White Star:

[052_Warp_shadow_killer_size_comparison-800]

Model is quite nice size, not too bing and not too small in my opinion.

I also repainted all the spikes and fins... there are much less stripes and I think colors are more match to the decals (this time Revell 51 enamel paint and white). The top pod is dry fitted in place more filling ahead..

Coppa Nutta: I really don't know what is this White Stars scale, definitely not 1/72 as you might know... 1/72 model is there for size comparison only (and because there is parts from my previous posts inside...)
