I think this would be the way to get my Whitestar done... This is not legible for this build as I have already glued two parts together, but this is more for myself, so I don't mind to be disqualified. This is not my primary build, I just hope that I can finish this model, which is about my absolute favorite scifi subject:

My starting point for this build

.... you might have to finish this one a day earlier to compensate for the two parts you've glued together [wink] [smile]

Looks like an interesting build
and something very different from the Star Wars frenzy that is about to happen [thumb]

Yep something definitely not Star Wars. By the way until Whitestar my favorite scifi ship was Millenium Falcon.. But many ships in Babylon 5 universe beats that in my opinion.

And for the subject: Media for ship is very spongy resin and white metal. Scale unknown.

You need to print out a colourful space nebula picture and use it as a back drop for the final reveal photos [wink]

Nice to see someone still remembers Babylon 5..

The resin in this model is quite bubbly, but the surface seems to be very smooth and feels strange, I wonder how the paint will stick.

Here is some progress:
[003_Warp_Shadow_killer_Leadin_Edge-800]

One of the engine pods broke off because of air bubble. So here is the fixed wing and put some brass string to support the pod. I also added some material (an old credit card) to the leading edge as there should be light or something in the 'real one'. Some filler is

Babylon 5 is one of my favourite Sci Fi series of all time. Great characters, ships and story arcs.

Dare I say "way better than any of the modern Star Trek series" or will that get me lynched!!. Well we are all entitled to our own opinion.

Great to see the warp kit being built, never got one but wouldn't say no to having a Whitestar

Cant wait to see more

Simon

Babylon 5 is my favorite series period.. I really like because of the things you mentioned too. I don't remember there was planned five seasons story arc before B5. And nowadays you'll newer know is something really planned to be certain arc or does it continue on and on until too few viewers. B5 was under constant threat and it especially shows in season four, where there is almost too much  happening. But luckily it was allowed to continue and the whole story could be told (I'll still hate that the new V-series was canceled after two seasons).

I have watched the whole thing about five times, but perhaps the fifth season was done one time fever. There is some time since I last watched it, perhaps I should watch it again for reference material. Those CGI:s are little outdated, but I really don't mind, I like those too.

I tried some paint for the surface as I was priming my other builds. It seemed to stick quite well after all. But I broke another engine pod on the process.. and the nose as this part it not just straight  flat and the resin is quite fragile.

Yeah that has totally jogged my memory, I do remember it from the show now [smile]

Challenging paint scheme, how you going to tackle that I wonder ? [smile]
Hopefully  the pins make for some strength in it

[original]

A little reminder, I did love the look of this show when it first came out [smile]
