I'd like to build a 1/32 scale spitfire but don't want to shell out for the Tamiya kit. Looking at the Revells mk9c and the Hobbyboss mk5b. I've read they are both great kits but that the Revell is missing some key period details being modelled on a restored example. Anyone had experience of either? I'd prefer the one with the best cockpit detail.

If you want something a bit different I have this one in my stash.  Short run kit, but available on eBay for reasonable money, and looking in the box it's a very nice kit, and comes with resin and colour-painted photo-etch components.  Besides, everyone and their dog builds Tamiya!  Dare to be different!

There's a review of it here.
