Yeah nice, something a little different. Interesting to see the results.

I like this idea. There are quite a few pay as you go part works available.
I'm just about to start the 1/48 U96 U Boat (Das Boot), I usually wait until I have a few issues and then do some building. Currently on issue 11.
Is anyone else doing this one?
We might be allowed to have a section of members builds of this model underneath the HMS Victory, with Bobby's permission of course.
I know the Black Pearl is still on-going.
What do you think Bobby?

Good scale at 1/48. It means you can use after market products, like adding the torpedo area during the build.

Looks like that u-boat magazine isnt available in the US, and the victory magazine is. However the cheapest option they have is $99 a month plus $9.99 p+h for 12 months. That's a little too rich for what I can afford to spend at the moment. Guess I'll just have to sit back and enjoy this build, and drool wishing I could join in. Kenny

Yeah I think I'll just watch too, you can buy a lot of models with that kind of coin. Yours looks really cool too Nigel. Would love to watch the build of that too!

Don't want to step on anyone's toes, so will probably do this wip in a different part of the forum.

What happened to the last wooden ship Bobby started building, also one of these monthly mag kits? About a year ago. Wasn't that HMS Victory? I remember him painting the canons, and then nothing.

Think this has been re-published, they have a habit of doing that.

Should be interesting! Gives me the urge to pick up wooden ship building again. I have two kits that have been in my stash for years now, never got round to it. The H.M. Mortar Vessel Convulsion will be a good candidate, it has double planking and has high quality parts. Bit more difficult regarding the rigging but hey ... Good to get back into the habit ... Wim.

I am thoroughly enjoying these episodes. How is the boat removed from the jig when it's time to do so?
