I've had 3 kits off Wayne since I discovered Boystown back in December, and have one more on pre-order which should be due sometime next month.
Good and quick communication with every order, and their prices, although somewhat erratic, are the best I've seen online.

I just have to keep on checking the website for bargains!

Also, I have been trying to promote them via the numerous global online modelling websites in order to promote and increase their online presence. I have done this simply because I believe they deserve a slice of the global kit market. Their prices and customer service are generally good, so every time a query is posted about the availability, new release news, or the price of a certain kit on a modelling forum, I search their website and try to post a link on the forum for them.

Personally, I would recommend them without hesitation.

Just purchased an incredibly well priced Eduard kit and a job lot of Vallejo paint, Wayne gave me a further price reduction on the phone and found some extra goodies when it arrived, I am a very happy customer 10 out of 10 from me!

I ordered 2 kits from these on the 16th May and payment was taken that day but I still haven't received anything.  I have emailed them 2 days ago but still no reply and also I have phoned them on 3 different numbers about 5 minutes ago but all I get is there opening times and asked to leave a message.  At the minute I am not impressed and will let you know how I get on.  If any one has any ideas it would be most welcome.

Hi Ian, am in the same position myself. Ordered the ICM Do 215 29th April subsequently BMM cancelled as they were having problems with paypal. Reordered 13th May, waited, chased ordered then informed that stock was damaged and returned to supplier. Was assured that item would be dispatched last Thurs or Friday by latest. Have emailed for confirmation of dispatch 3 times this week already. Surprise, surprise......still awaiting response. Not at all impressed. Aidan
Copy of their response to my concern.

hi aidan remarks taken on board  do you still require the kit ?? i wont go in to all the remarks you have mentioned as i could go on about it all week , there was problems and there is reasons for them sorry about our awful service swhaun

Original Message: Hi Shaun, you can understand my concern as my original order(XXXX) was cancelled too because I had paid with paypal.  I thought you could have offered an alternate method of payment as opposed to just cancelling the order, particularly as I wanted this just released kit. Now, after I assumed that my new order was on it's way, there is another problem. Telephone numbers have changed, problems with paypal, cancelled orders, no answer on new number or the facility to leave a message, wrong postage rates. Shaun, the drums are beating on the forums. I myself have always posted good things about BMM but to be honest, the level of service recently has been awful. I really do want you to succeed in a very competitive market so please take my remarks constructively rather than criticism. Kind regards, Aidan

Thanks Aidan for the info.  Heard nothing as yet.  I read the thread on Britmodeller and it looks we aren't alone.  I hate it when companies come out with all the problems they have with systems, staff, etc but they never seem to have problems when it comes to taking the money. Strange that.  Any way thanks again mate.

Hi guys,

Does anyone have any way to contact these people?
You are supposed to send emails only via their site, which I have tried 5 times over the last few weeks, but I have never had a reply.  I also tried calling, but never yet could get an answer (seems no option to leave a voicemail...)

I placed an order well over 2 months ago.  In stock (at that time) - but never sent out.
Order status is still 'open'.

I am infuriated - not so much because I did not receive my items yet, but more at the disrespect towards to me by never answering me, or contacting me.

I could wait if I had had some contact - but I am so frustrated now that I want to get my money back.

Unfortunately I paid by PayPal, and I just found out I had only 45 days to claim my money back (which of course has expired).

So I will now have to go through my Credit Card company (who WILL get my money, I have no doubts) - all of which is completely avoidable if someone would just answer any one of my emails, or pick up the phone.

Sad.........

PS
This was also my FIRST order!  The main reason I ordered from them is because of the sponsorship via Genessis Models, I thought they must be reputable.....

Just give you an update.

BBM refunded my card on the 6th June but didn't notify I have just seen it on my credit card bill.  Hopefully thats the matter finished with.  Would I recommend this company?  No!  The customer service in my experience well, is not there.  You don't get an answer from your phone calls or emails and the bad reviews outnumber the good.  Would I buy off this company again?  Never because I didn't actually get anything, all I feel is that I gave them an interest free loan for 3 weeks via my credit card if you know what I mean.

Sorry to hear all the problems that have been coming from the company Boystownmilitaryminiatures.com and so as a result, Genessis-models does not no longer support, advertise or recommend BTMM any longer.

When we first starting out advertising BTMM they were very helpful and other members recommended them highly, but as we have entered in to 2014 it would appear that BTMM have gone downhill and so it brings us to the sad decision to formally un-recommend BTMM.

This really is a sad state of affairs unfortunately this seems to be a common occurrence within the hobby in general, I had an experience with an American company called Thunder Valley about 3 years ago they produced and marketed very high detail sets for Formula 1 1/12th scale kits, I ordered a set for the Tamiya Williams FW14b, which then retailed and was advertised for $380, which I happily paid the money was taken from my Bank card within 4 hours of placing the order, despite the terms and conditions saying that payment would not be taken until the set was dispatched, 9 weeks later and a parcel arrived containing less than 50% of the components, emails faxes calls and finally an apology and promise of missing parts in post, 3 weeks later about 25% more parts and now my patience worn out, legal threats made and finally an admittance that because he had not paid manufactures they would not send the parts I returned at my expense all the parts and 20 months later got about 80% of my money back.
I know these people set out with the best of intentions and I appreciate that it is a fierce market place, but as a person who works within a service industry myself, the most important law of business is clear honest communication, the customer mat not like what he/she hears but if it is 100% the truth, at least they are fully aware of what is going on. I looked at BTMM's site a few times and came close to ordering the Good Morning Da Nang kit from them, thank god I did'nt and went with ModelsrGo,
The issue is I think trying to supply and stock way too much, armour, aircraft, miniatures , autos, aftermarket sets etc the financial outlay must be incredible and of course suppliers want paying  whether you have sold the items or not, sooner or later you cannot operate no cash no stock equals no customers equals no business and a pile of debt.
Traders please please take note, we want to support you, we appreciate your efforts to supply us with the latest kit releases and aftermarket parts and supplies,at competetive prices, but be honest with us treat us with a little respect, and if there is a problem then let us know immediately.
Gary

When chasing my outstanding order I got the response that my paypal payment was refunded last Saturday........I paid by cheque!!!!!! I think most of us are patient and will give a trader the benefit of the doubt. However, when there is little communication and then have no confidence in the  little you do receive, I'm afraid you lose all credibility. So I have no kit, no returned cheque ( as yet uncashed) and no response. Saving grace is that at least it wasn't one of those big ticket items! Aidan PS I'm more sad and disappointed than annoyed TBH.

Was just about to place order for 2 Eduard Phantoms when I noticed this on BMM website.

MONDAY 9TH JUNE

WE ARE TODAY TAKING LEGAL ACTION

AGAINST CERTAIN WEBSITE FORUMS

REGARDING NEGATIVE AND UNTRUE

REMARKS AGAINST US OUR SOLICITORS

ARE NOW ABOUT TO SEND LETTERS TO

THE SAID FORUMS FOR DEFAMATION

OF OUR CHARACTER

Had a look in Forums here and decided to hang off a bit. Previously had no problems with BMM but kits not being delivered and no communication sent does not sound too good. Hopefully its just a blip as I said found them very good before.
