I really would like to participate in this group build, but as I have mentioned before my time is a little limited at the moment due to other commitments.
I have many started but unfinished projects on the "shelf of doom" so I don't really want to start another in fear that it will end up the same way.
However I have a proposition that if no one objects to would allow me to participate and also help reduce the build up of unfinished kits.
Some time ago when i returned to the hobby I did what most men do when they get into a new pastime and went out and spent an obscene amount of money on kits, tools and paints, one of the kits was a Tamiya 1/32 F-14 with a load of resin and photoetch. This proved too much of a challenge to my skills at the time therefore got shelved.
I did ressurect this build a little while back but alas this too stalled (in fact there is a thread on the forum somewhere)
Now my proposal to you all is this :
I would like to continue my F-14 within the group build, I of course would be exempt from judging as the kit is too far along in construction qualify in the rules and I will only be particating for the fun and camaraderie.
I think that doing this will mean I can work on it in between my other commitments and that I don't put myself under any pressure to finish to a deadline.
If the kit gets finiished I clear the shelf of doom a little more and I don't have any guilt for starting a new one that in all likelihood won't ever get finished
Let me know what you think guys, and if there are no objections I will ask Bobby to move my existing thread to the group build section.
And again just to be clear I will not be eligible for any prizes, I just want to be part of the group
Pete

I have no problems with that at all Pete. It would be great to have you onboard and see you doing your magic on the 1/32 tomcat!

Hi all. Sounds like the go Pete! I'm currently planning an overseas holiday (very spur of the moment) later this month. On my return I think I'll be in the right frame of mind to hit the man cave again (winters end as well) If so, and if no-one objects, I'd also like to participate and finish my F-14 under the same terms as Pete. But I will make an official request come the time. I look forward to jumping back in. The camaraderie has been sorely missed.

Hello guys,
I'm on holiday in Pensacola, FL and headed to the Naval Aviation Museum today and again next week. Once is just not enough! Any requests for reference photos on your builds?
Ron.
