Hi all

As it looks as though the next group build is going to be the F4B I got excited and bought the Eduard Good Morning Da Nang kit which arrived yesterday (after less than 24 hrs!!! UK to Guernsey!). I have decided to have a go at my first group build [frown] which will involve first use of photo etch and first use of resin [I can hear you sniggering now Ted!!].

My question related to the colour photo etch for the cockpit. It looks great and was wondering if you guys paint the cockpit then add the photo etch and THEN weather everything or if you paint/weather the cockpit first and then add the colour photo etch. That would then leave the photo etch looking great but perhaps too clean???

Any help welcome.

Thanks.

What I do Andy, is paint everything to look clean then add the colour etch, then weather. It's good to put a matt coat over the whole lot after too, I find it blends the coloured etch in a little bit more
Hope this helps

Good tip Pete. what I do is..............I don't know. I have not handled any painted photo etch! Andy, no worries, I not sniggering at all....but I am rubbing my hands together and have an evil grin on my face--sort of a gargoyle thing? best wishes actually. Pete has given us a great tip. glad to see you are joining the group build!

Thanks Pete that is really helpful. I don't want to ruin what looks to be great detail to go in my F4.

I only hope the group build ends up being the Phantom !!!!!
