Here we go

possibly one of my favourite miniatures from these guys (they are covered in masses of detail)

I plan to do pretty much the same colour scheme shown
[snapseed-01_zpsyjhagmoz]
Stage one under coating basic zenith technique (mainly to help me bring out the detail)

Starting with Vallejo black primer

[snapseed-02_zpssmxltwvn]
[snapseed-03_zpsiwtwiupb]

Then Vallejo white primer from above and then on targeted details (knees, backside feet)
[snapseed-05_zpswecsuklp]
[snapseed-04_zpsgu2mae2v]
[snapseed-07_zpsozmhf7wp]

Stage 2 basecoat of Vallejo model colour Prussian blue (heavily thinned and airbrushed on)

[snapseed-08_zpso6jzivya]

Stage 3 Highlighting (all airbrushed at this stage)

Vallejo model colour Prussian blue Vallejo model air Pale blue mix

[snapseed-10_zpsk8kusktk]

Previous mix with more Pale blue and white added
done in 3 stages with more white added at each stage reducing area covered each time

[snapseed-11_zpskwrsjyzl]

Thanks for looking

Stephen

A lovely looking figure Stephen and a great start too !

I really appreciate you going to the effort of doing a step by step mate, it's really helpful to see how the process is done from start to finish, I'm sure I'll pick up some handy tips .

I'm with you all the way on this mate

Really well done so far. The shading is looking very natural already. That zenith technique is amazing. [smile]

Today's progress

Face stage 5 continued

In a fit of madness I decided to paint her with blue eyes (which makes her look quite startled this close up)

[DSC_3905%20Modified_zpsz52ofsig]

Body stage 7 adding white plates base coated in Vallejo model colour light grey

[DSC_3910%20Modified_zpsu2abxqp6]

Stage 8 lining and shading light grey plates with mix of light grey and black grey, also started to highlight black sections with slightly altered version of same mix.

[DSC_3921%20Modified_zpsznixqyod]

Stage 9  more highlighting and shading with different mixes light grey mixed with black grey

[DSC_3928%20Modified_zpsitjythvj]
[DSC_3929%20Modified_zpsssheb5ce]

Stage 10 thin black wash applied over black areas to bring out details and start highlighting light grey areas with a mix of light grey and white
