Hello everybody!

One part of decaling that has always eluded me was doing long decals around a fuselage. Like in between the tail and cockpit (stripe) on a p-40 im working on its supposed to wrap around and connect back together. Problem is i can never make it look good, or get them lined up very well without usually ruining them. For instance when the two ends meet they dont look seamless. Is there a good way to do this?

Thanks

From my personal experience, and this is not the end-all-be-all answer that will work for everyone, is that if you have the resources then mask and paint the stripe on. Otherwise you match up that decal as best as you can. When its dry then you do your best to paint what doesn't line up to match it together.

I'm hoping someone has a better and easier answer for you. But honestly the best results I've seen have rarely ever included a decal for tail stripes.
